Adding To WordPress

Note the video below showcases where my blog use to be located. It’s now located at Blog Training Classroom.

Update: In the video I mention visiting SEO Egghead’s site, downloading the file, zipping it up, and then installing it on your blog. Since I created this video, SEO Egghead has added it to the WordPress plugin repository, so to install it all you need to do is head over to your Dashboard area, go to Plugins, and then search for WordPress Firewall.

Update 2: Someone “forked” this plugin and conveniently named it WordPress Firewall 2. Either plugin will work just fine. I’m using the original WordPress Firewall.

Awhile back I wrote an article on my blog called, 2 Easy Ways To Set Up A WordPress Firewall. In it, I highlighted a WordPress Firewall security plugin released by SEO Egghead which greatly increases your blog’s security against common exploits and hacks.

In this video, I’ll go over how to install the plugin and a few of its settings.

If WordPress security is important to you (and it should be), I have an ebook I wrote called, WordPress Defender which you can pick up and details a ton of information on how to secure and monitor your blog against hackers.

    Hi John
Great video, much more comprehensive than I thought it would be… felt that I learned a lot.

Thanks for the mention, my daughter thought that it was brilliant to hear my name.

As we say in England… the cheque’s in the post.

  2. John Hoff Says:

Hi Keith, glad to hear it hit the mark.

I know what you’re saying about kids, my son who’s 3 thinks it’s neat to hear my voice on the computer.

  3. Keith Davis Says:

    Hi John
My daughter is 18, I don’t think that she would like to hear my voice… but she did enjoy your voice. I suspect all the ladies enjoy your voice!

I’ve spent a little time adding some security to my site at the expense of it looking good (still has default theme), but I will be uploading a theme in the next week or so.
If you send me a 125 x 125 add graphic for “WP Blog Host”, I will add it to my adverts.

Hi Keith. It’s funny you say that. I’ve been hearing it a lot lately that people like my voice. It’s funny because I’ve never considered that I have that great of a voice.

Hey thanks by the way for offering to put a banner up on your site. Here’s the link to the banner:

If you run into any issues setting up your theme, let me know.

Audio started playing as soon as I opened this blog, so annoying!

  6. WP Blog Host Says:

    Hi Keva.

I’m not sure if your comment is real or not, I disabled your URL because it looked suspicious. But if you are a real person then I’m not following you. The video does not autoplay. In fact, I don’t think that’s even possible with blip.tv, which is where my video is embedded from.
