Hi-

Great video! I would like to do the reverse. That is, I have a wordpress install in a subdirectory (www.mysite.com/example) and would like to have it accessible from the site's root (www.mysite.com).

Would I simply do the reverse? I.E., change the site address in the settings and COPY the .htaccess and index.php file from subdirectory into the root?

Oh, the site's root currently hosts a non-wp site that's been up for years, with tons of folders and files that I need to keep.

Hi Robin. Is he still wanting to keep the site in root a WordPress installation then?

If there aren't too many articles, you could simply create a /blog directory from your hosting control panel, install WordPress there and move his blog to the /blog directory. Make sure to update FeedBurner with your new blog's feed address (add /blog to it) if he's using that service. Also, you may need to do some .htaccess redirects so there are no broken links out there.

Then you can do whatever you want with the root folder. If you wanted to install WordPress there, you could (nested WordPress installs).

Is that what you were looking for? Sorry, I just woke up lol.

Hello... great videos!!! I have been learning a lot from you. I have a question I think you could help me with. I am in the process of moving a blog that is currently in the main directly into a /blog directory. He wants to keep the same theme and everything in the main directly and wants a link from there to go to the /blog. What is the easiest way to make this happen?

Thanks for your help!!!
